Oemeta shows trends at the METAV

Oemeta presents latest universal cooling lubricant and mineral oil-free GTL products

Oemeta Chemische Werke GmbH presents their newest products at the exhibition METAV in Düsseldorf. Besides the new biocide-free universal cooling lubricant UNIMET 280 for a broad range of machining applications, the manufacturer also shows the latest gas-to-liquids oils (GTL). With best performance data and high process reliability, both product groups are prepared for the increasing requirements of demanding machining processes of the future. Already today, users benefit from reliable processes and longer tool life.

“At the METAV we will demonstrate that the high performance of our cooling lubricants can be well combined with improved environmental protection and user safety,” emphasizes Malte Krone, Head of Product Management at Oemeta Chemische Werke GmbH. Additionally to the basic product range and the consulting and application expertise, the manufacturer of high-performance cooling lubricants displays the company’s latest developments at the 19th international exhibition for metalworking technologies in Düsseldorf.

Base oils produced with GTL technology

Among them are the newest cutting and grinding oils OEMETOL 610 GT and 620 GT, which are produced in the gas-to-liquid (GTL) process. This new advancing technology is used to obtain the so-called GTL oils from natural gas, which are very pure, synthetic and thus, mineral oil-free base oils. They are free of sulphur, organic nitrogen, aromatics, heavy metals, zinc and chlorine compounds. Nevertheless, they provide excellent performance data and are characterized by an up to 17 percent higher flash point and an up to 60 percent lower volatility. As a result, occupational safety is improved and consumption is lowered. Compared to conventional mineral or hydrocracked oils, the higher lubricating performance and optimised foaming behaviour reduce wear up to 20 percent. Hence, processes become more reliable and tool life is expanded considerably.

Biocide-free universal product with best values

Furthermore, Oemeta presents the new universal cooling lubricant UNIMET 280. The company located in northern Germany developed the coolant for a broad use in machining processes. The manufacturer guarantees an application-specific lubricating performance when machining steel and cast materials as well as a low consumption due to good run-off without residues. This feature also ensures clean machines and work pieces. In practical tests, UNIMET 280 delivered far better values than conventional cooling lubricants regarding technical performance, efficiency and human compatibility.
